"Made with 100% Sangiovese, the Tenuta di Carleone 2020 Uno (in an elegant bottle with a white wax capsule) shows a spicy side with macerated aromas of cherry skin and dried fruit. Long skin contact and partial whole cluster are key to winemaking. Like the other wines in this portfolio, Uno (the "one" refers to the singularity of Sangiovese) is a wine of special character. Firm tannins are followed by a touch of bitter fruit. Production is 21,500 bottles, and fruit represents a selection from Radda in Chianti only." The 2019 Uno shows the darker side of Sangiovese. Wild and potent, Uno is another compelling wine from Tenuta di Carleone. Dried flowers, herbs, incense, leather and tobacco lead into a core of wild cherry fruit as the 2019 gradually opens in the glass. Stellar and compelling, Uno is absolutely fabulous in 2019.
