2016 CHATEAU LA GRANGERE SAINT EMILION
"Aromas of blueberries and blackberries with flowers and fresh spices that follow through to a full body, with tight and very firm tannins and a long, flavorful finish. From organically grown grapes. Better in 2021, but already very attractive." James Suckling 90 points Drink 2023-29

Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 La Grangere gives a nose of baked plums and stewed cherries with hints of dried herbs, spice cake, tobacco and hoisin. Medium to full-bodied, the palate delivers mouth-filling baked berry flavors with a chewy frame and long, spicy finish.

The 2016 Château La Grangere is a hidden little gem and has a medium-bodied, supple yet classic feel that's very much in the style of the vintage. Spiced plums, baking spices, menthol, and a hint of truffle all emerge from this medium-bodied Saint-Emilion that has integrated acidity, moderate tannins, and a straight, focused texture. It should benefit from a year or two of bottle age and keep for 7-8.
